Vision Microsystems’ LEON MDS (Microprocessor Developer System) is the emulator for LEON2/LEON3 microprocessor. LEON MDS is a debug solution based on DSU port integrated on the LEON chip. LEON MDS comes standard with a software debugger for a fully integrated hardware and software solution and provides the industry’s most feature rich tool for board bring-up, flash programming and software debugging and testing.

LEON MDS provides a high speed ethernet connection between a host debugger and the target microprocessor for debug. It is the proven, high performance emulation system, offering industry leading download speeds, overall debug throughput, and unprecedented debug efficiency.

 LEON MDS allows developers to perform common source-level debug activities such as watching memory and controlling large numbers of registers. Software debuggers can be LEON VDS(Vision Debugger Suite), Eclips, or GDB debugger.

Support Target CPU: LEON2 / LEON3 core based CPU, such as FPGA CPU or TSC697

Download Speed: 100Kbyte/s for download and upload

Development Environment: Eclipse for Editor and building, VDS for the debugger

Source Level Debugger: The VDS (Vision Debugger Suite) is a source level debugger

Compiler: Building in RCC and GCC, also support Ada95

Support Format: ELF, COF etc.

OS and BSP: Building in RTEMS Source and BSP. Support OS-Awareness

UI: User friendly User’s Interface, also support LEON3 Plug & Play

Realtime Control and debug: Go, Stop, Breakpoing/Watchpoint, Jump PC, Reset , step etc.

Trace: Support Instruction/ AHB trace, and the trace can Cursor link

MMU/Cache: support MMU/Cache debug

Flash PROM Programming: Support user defind PROM
